This is my first blog of the New Year and the time is continuing to fly past on my first placement. The announcement of exclusive talks with the Coop for the divestment of 632 branches has really ramped up the pace on the Verde project, I have been stretched over and above my day job as an Infrastructure Project Manager. As part of the IT TSA team I am continuing to support the deal team in their negotiations; providing commercial schedules and most importantly acting as a gateway for the legal teams into the technical IT solutions and services.

I am into my sixth week with Lloyds Banking Group and the time has flown past. My current role in Project Management working on the divestment of 632 branches has been challenging but I am enjoying having some real responsibility. The first few weeks involved quickly picking up on the organisational structure and processes/systems; and you find that everyone speaks in 3 letter acronyms (at least within Group IT), so it’s just a case of taking note of what they mean and you soon end up using them, it’s honestly like picking up a second language! I’m excited to be joining Lloyds Banking Group this September, on the Business Technology Graduate Scheme. I will be starting my role as IT Infrastructure Project Manager based in Emerald House, London over the next few weeks and I am eager to get started. I have been in regular contact with my line manager; he seems enthusiastic about me starting and has been brilliant in offering advice and guidance about my role and the company.
